nothing good gets away

The free Brain Pickings “interestingness digest” is one of my Sunday pleasures. This round-up of Maria Popova’s eclectic explorations is exquisitely written food for thought that never fails to rev up my curiosity.

In honor of John Steinbeck’s birthday last week, Brain Pickings featured this flashback to a letter the author wrote to his son I smile each time I read it, especially the part about being patient and believing that what’s right for us isn’t going anywhere just because we’re not ready to recognize or receive it yet.

It’s like this W.S. Merwin favorite I have in my post for someone visiting my blog for the first time. The last line asks “Are you ready yet?” because there’s no such thing as being too late when it comes to letting our light shine.
