On April 26, 2002, Poem in Your Pocket Day took flight in New York City. Poetry lovers nationwide jumped on board in 2008, and now poems burst out of pockets to inspire people from coast-to-coast — in schools, offices, bookstores, parks, etc.

The idea?  Select a poem you love during National Poetry Month then carry it with you on April 26,  sharing it with co-workers, family and friends.

It’s not too late to slip a poem into your pocket and join in the fun . . .  Click the pocket below to find poems ready to be printed, carried and shared, or jot down one of your all-time favorites and tote that around with you.
